Rain outside, Craft inside

Well the rain has come again and with the miserable weather outside the only thing left to do is to find something crafty to do.

My collection of recycled yarns and papers have been growing over the few months with only the odd project in mind to use them. So I have spent some time over the last few days making Christmas cards, both for sale and ready to send off. I am taking orders for Christmas cards if anyone is after some so feel free to drop me an email and I can put together a package for you with some bulk price options.
I have also been making some bags of late using some of my recycled yarn stash. This is one I have crocheted and is quite thick and chunky. I am happy to take order's for these too if anyone is interested.

Aside from that, my hand dyed sessions have been halted but with the last lot of tops now dry, I have quite a few braids available for sale as well.

With nothing else to do, I'm off to go and create something. I hope you have a chance to do some crafting where ever you are, so Happy Crafting! :)

Another Dye Session

It was a beautiful sunny day Tuesday, perfect for some more dyeing. I must say that the more I do the more I love the results that are coming out.
I managed to finish spinning a couple of skeins yesterday in preparation for the upcoming show, but they will have to be a surprise for after the show. I also spent all day yesterday weaving up something for the show which I am really excited about, but again, you will just have to wait to see it :)
I have been doing a bit of knitting on my domino scrap rug and it is starting to take shape. There are still to many stitches for me to spread it out properly, but you get the idea.
I have also been playing around with some Tunisian crochet techniques and this is my play so far. It has an interesting effects when I use a hand spun thick-thin yarn but I like where it is heading. I will keep you posted on this projects progress.
And where would I be without my spindle :) This is the progression of my spinning on my Turkish Delight. I might add that the spindle is only 26g and the main shaft is about 13cm long. It is a really small spindle but I love it because I can spin in the car with it as a drop spindle or even supported.

Well I seem to have started about 6 or 7 different projects in the last few days but I have managed to finish a few too, so that is something I guess :) Happy Crafting! :)

Productive week ahead ...

It has been another busy few weeks but finally there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. A long awaited and major crafting session has finally arrived and the last couple of days has been a good start to a promising week of craft.

Teaching tatting lessons at Craft Group on Saturday was great fun and it was nice to share some crafting techniques with other people. There is nothing like watching the excitement and joy of others when they learn to do something for the first time.

It has really inspired me to take my tatting up a notch to the next level, and also to finish the tatting project I started but have not yet finished. I must say I love tatting for it's simplicity. It is fairly inexpensive too, just time consuming, and makes a good traveling craft due to it's compact size.

A wool dyeing session yesterday produced some very interesting colours. I am just waiting for the last batch to dry and then I will add some photos. I must admit, it is hard sometime when I do a dye run to not keep all of the lovely coloured wool for myself, as they are sometimes so very yummy. But then again, that would mean more projects to design and finish ... and a heap of fun doing it!

Until then, Happy Crafting! :)
