A Honey Bee Kiwi 3

I has been a full two days full of spinning, blending batts and I have managed to finish decorating my Kiwi 3 Spinning Wheel. While I still have the bobbins to go, I am happy with how it has turned out.

I have been blending up a storm and there are some yummy batts now available in my shop and more to come.

I have also managed to spin every day of my #lizgreenarts365 challenge! This is today's spin progress to celebrate using my wheel again.

Dyeing for Lace

I was so very excited that some of the Yarns I have been dyeing this week are now dry and ready for sale in my shop. While there are still many batches left to dry from the week, my favorite one so far would have to be this Magic Splash. I love how the colours have come out and the subtle gradient effect in the yarn, perfect for a Lace shawl.

And I was excited to finish the fibre I've been spinning on my spindles, next step plying!

It has been a relaxing and wonderful weekend with a Bon Fire tonight to help celebrate yesterdays Birthday. I also managed to do a bit more spinning on my spindle from yesterday, which I am thoroughly enjoying. I have also been working on an exciting fibre surprise, which you will have to wait until tomorrow to see. So, here is to Day 2!

#lizgreenarts365 Challenge

I may have been a little quiet of late here on my blog, but there are lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes here at the Liz Green Arts Studio in Eagle Point Australia. But in saying that, I thought I would kick start my creative mojo back into gear with a #lizgreenarts365 Challenge!
A couple of times now I have started to spin 365 days in a row, yet with all the unexpected chaos and life changing events of the last couple of years, I have never finished a full year... yet! Yet I found each time I stopped spinning during each of these challenging times, I got to the other end and wished I had just picked up the spindle or sat at the wheel and just kept spinning. Quite simply, spinning has become a part of my life so much now, that if I had had the courage to just keep spinning, I probably would have been able to get through the challenging times so much easier.

So, even though it isn’t the start of a year traditionally, I thought as today is a special Birthday, and I'm not saying which one, I figured this was as good a start of a year as any. I would try again to spin every day for a whole year, Birthday to Birthday, with an extra day thrown in for the leap year. Also, as an added bonus, it would get a little practice in before the Tour de Fleece Starts in July.
Details of my 365 Challenge:
  • Dates: The challenge runs from 31st May 2019 - 31st May 2020, Birthday to Birthday, so if I make it through to my next birthday, there will really be an achievement to celebrate!
  • My Requirements: To spin everyday for 365 days straight (plus that extra leap day), spinning on a spindle, wheel or what ever I can get my hands on to turn fluff into yarn!
  • Share: I will be tagging my photo's and projects using #lizgreenarts365 and I'll be sharing them here on my blog and on social media. If you like, you can follow my progress on any of the links below:
If you would like to take up the #lizgreenarts365 challenge, I welcome any followers, just use the #lizgreenarts365 tag when you share and feel free to join me in my Ravelry group. If you don't spin but still want to take up the challenge of creating every day, then just pick a craft to do everyday for the duration of the challenge - this challenge needs to be personal to you so you can push through the hard days to the end!

So, here is my Birthday present to me and to Day 1 of Spinning!
